I was trained in December have enjoyed sharing the 90 minute massage with many friends. All my massages were given free but I have received so much from them in the way of feedback and gifts that I do not feel they were free at all. I would love to pay for my training and earn enough for more training so recently I put out an advertisement and had my first paying customer. It was a good feeling but I still love sharing Thai Yoga massage with anyone that wants one. After each massage I asked the recipient what they liked and what they did not like, were they warm enough, was the touch too hard or too soft, what they would like more of and in general let them come up with feedback. They were very honest and it helped me improve. My favorite comments were..."You have a very loving touch", "the head part was delicious", "you are wonderful, you need to start charging for this", and from my paying client, "I feel much better, you have made a customer". Thanks David for sharing what you learned. It is so wonderful to share it with others.

I am not sure if this is the right place to write about it, but I wanted to say that the the Thai Institute of Healing Arts course in Thai massage has been truly life-changing. Whenever I feel stressed, I try to think of the amazing time I spent in the course to channel its meditative atmosphere. I didn't really believe in the idea of "positive energy" till I met David and saw how his energy transformed the attitudes of my classmates. It makes a difference practicing Thai massage, too, to think about it as energy work and not simply learn it mechanically. The spirit of the class was one I have never seen before, harmonious, generous, and cooperative. David is really devoted, always sending emails with news, and I hope someday to attend another class. In the meantime, I highly recommend it to anyone even the least bit curious about Thai massage! -Caroline Babcock, student summer 2008
